Less preferable option (but easier to implement having the current wrong situation) would be to change the title to "Disney's Aladdin Video Game s" and edit the references from "version" to "game", title them by their developers/publishers instead of the misleading title using the main port as the name of the "version", etc. There is no reason for these articles to be merged. My suggestion would be to split them into "Disney's Aladdin (Virgin Interactive's video game)" and "Disney's Aladdin (Capcom's video game)".Both games having several shared characteristics (mostly due to the simple fact that they were based simultaneously on the same source) is a ridicules argument for referring them as one. Lacking information is absolutely not a reason for misleading presentation as if those unrelated games were in fact "different versions". This state of affairs is a complete embarrassment. It's been years now since that poor decision of merging two completely unrelated games into one article has been made, the expected objections were raised and stated, and yet nothing has been done to fix this unfortunate incident. It has been suggested that this page be split into multiple pages. The Genesis version was back then widely considered as one the best Genesis games. Rhindle The Red 15:33, 19 March 2007 (UTC) The games are way to different to be merged under one article. Perhaps Video games based on Disney'a Aladdin. "Disney's Aladdin (video game)" is not accurate, since it covers more than one. Dugwiki 22:59, 27 July 2006 (UTC) Given the fact that the games are completely different, I think they either need separate articles or the name of this article needs to change.

Of course, if there is dispute about the merger, feel free to discuss and revert it if wanted by consensus. So the differences between the two versions are outlined in seperate sections of the article. I went ahead and merged the information from all three articles into this one.Īlthough there are technically two seperate games involved, one by Capcom and the other by Virgin, there did not appear to be enough additional information seperating the two games to require two articles.

There were three seperate articles on Disney Aladdin video games from 1993 with a lot of duplicate information between them and with merger requests. While we're on the subject, why no mention of the Amiga version, which basically appeared to the MegaDrive version with a large status area at the top of the screen, and more comprehensive sampled sound?- 82.41.83.190 ( talk) 12:08, 22 February 2011 (UTC) merged in two duplicate articles I think they mean that the game animators used original cel art as a source for the game art. I have read this too in the games magazine Power Unlimted in 1993 the author didn't mention a source perhaps David Perry who was leading developer of the game can confirm or deny this. The article already mentions the fluid cel animation, but I remember reading years ago that some Disney animators who worked on the film were responsible for the game's graphics - does anyone know whether that's true? Any info on Disney's involvement should be added, but it would be great to get some references for it first. 10 Disney's Aladdin in Nasira's Revenge.8 Fair use rationale for Image:Aladdin sega.jpg.7 Fair use rationale for Image:Aladdin SNES Box.jpg.6 Fair use rationale for Image:Aladdin.gif.
